Samaritan's Purse is running a Relief Center in Kiln, Mississippi. Volunteers from across the country have been gathering at Bayou Talla Fellowship. NorthRidge Church of Plymouth, Michigan has been sending teams to assist Samaritan's Purse. This is a place for comments & pictures.

Bay St. Louis, Waveland and Kiln in Hancock County, Mississippi were hit extremely hard. Hurricane Katrina was the worst disaster to hit the United States. Storm surge was anywhere from 10 to 25 feet with waves topping out even higher. Winds were likely sustained at around 110 mph with gusts reaching even higher.

Thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed along with thousands of cars flooded. Thousands of people are still homeless; living with relatives, in tents or in trailers.

Water levels brought in mud, and washed out boats from their wells. The force of the water tore houses from their foundations. Many homes were washed away.

NorthRidge Church Team #2 helped 5 households to gain some respect and hope. The team of 12 volunteers helped removing mud, belongings and mold laden drywall. Team #1 started the process October 15th with 6 teams to follow. Over 200 volunteers are putting in their time to help where they can help the most; with people's lives and relationships.

Four to five inches of mud was found on the second floor of many homes around Bay St. Louis. People's belongings were piled on the streets for removal by FEMA in the weeks to come.

I am blessed to have been working on this volunteer effort and would love to return and help where I can. I am happy to be the hands and feet of my savior Jesus Christ. Our sweat and scrapes were not in vain. Lives are worth helping, one at a time.

I would like to thank and praise our team of Greg, Randy, Blaine, Gary, Lisa, Rachal, Mark, Christine, Maggie, Chris, and Martha for putting up with me and working so hard.

I would also like to thank Pam & her mother, Mr. Garcia, Dave & Joy, Dennis & Pat and Betty & her husband for allowing us to come into their lives and help put their homes back together.

Remember we are but ambassadors and visitors here. What is seen is only temporary but what is unseen is eternal. Our homes may be lost but our hearts are one with the Lord.

I pray for all those affected by the Hurricane. After seeing parts of the impact, my heart goes out to the families.

Lead me Lord and I will follow... Feed me Holy Spirit and I will swallow...
